FORMER TEACHER HAD CHILDREN IN THE CAR WITH HER AT THE TIME, REPORT SAID

- By SOFIE JACKSON

A FORMER teacher at a special school in East Yorkshire has been struck off from the profession following a previous conviction for drink-driving.

Rachel Bruce was the assistant head-teacher at Riverside Special School in Goole from 2015 until 2020. She has been barred from teaching indefinitely, according to a Teaching Regulation Agency report published on March 26.

The report said Ms Bruce failed a road-side breath test in Snaith, East Yorkshire, on June 13, 2020. It was recorded she had 112µg (micrograms) of alcohol in 100ml of breath, according to the report, which cited Humber Magistrates' Court.
