Motorcylist loses part of leg in collision with car

A POPULAR motorcyclist is recovering after losing part of his leg following a crash.

Chris Moss's family have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and affection for the 53-year-old.

His Honda motorbike was in collision with a Seat Ibiza car near Trearddur Bay on Anglesey at 9.30pm on May 1.

An investigation is ongoing about the incident on Lon Isallt.

Mr Moss suffered 15 major injuries and was airlifted to the Royal Stoke University Hospital.

He had to have part of his right leg amputated, but his family said medics are keeping his spirits up.

Relatives have set up a Gofundme appeal to help fund Chris's rehabilitation. This quickly smashed through its £5,000 target, having passed the £8,300 mark at the weekend.

Son Michael, 28, said a camp-site worker heard the collision, came rushing out and contacted the relevant people.

Michael, who is an architectural assistant based in Leeds, found out about the accident the following morning from his family.

He said unfortunately the injuries meant part of his dad's right leg was "irrecoverable".

While in hospital in Stoke, Chris is being well cared for by staff.
