PATIENT approach paid off for Elfyn Evans as he finished fourth on Rally Italia Sardegna, despite despite having to stop and change a tyre.

The Dolgellau driver also came fourth on the Super Sunday event and fifth in the Power Stage, meaning he continues to the lead the World Rally Championship drivers' standings, 19 points in front of Sebastien Ogier and 20 ahead of Kalle Rovanpera.
The rally was won by Evan's Toyota teammate Ogier, with Hyundai's Ott Tanak finishing in second place.
This year's rally of the Italian island event lived up to its reputation, with temperatures exceeding 30 degrees centigrade combined with rough and rocky roads to test the drivers, their cars and their tyres to the limit.
