An Easter recess full of variety

HE Easter holidays have come to an end, and as the children return to school and many back to work, I hope you have had the opportunity for a bit of a break over the past few weeks and are looking forward to the Summer term.

Although the Senedd was in recess, Easter was a busy one and full of variety for me. I caught up with constituents, businesses and local organisations on Ynys Môn I always take the opportunity to do so when things are quieter in Cardiff Bay.

In addition, I had the privilege of being part of a delegation from the Welsh Parliament that went over to Kyiv for a few days, not only to show our solidarity and support with the people of Ukraine in a difficult time in their history, but to attend meetings with Kyiv Council to agree on a way forward in terms of remembering and honouring the journalist, the late Gareth Jones, one of the first journalists to tell the world about the Holodomor another horrific period in Ukraine's history and I was glad that we were able to agree on placing a memorial on the street named after him in Kyiv in recognition of his vital work.
