Self-styled preacher booked for sexual harassment, stalking

Police have booked a 42-year-old self-styled preacher and pastor in Kapurthala district in Punjab on charges of sexual harassment and stalking, officers said on Sunday.

Police said the accused, identified as Bajinder Singh, is a selfstyled pastor running the Church of Glory and Wisdom in Tajpur village of Jalandhar district. According to a complaint filed by a 22-year-old woman, Singh allegedly sent inappropriate messages and touched her inappropriately on multiple occasions since 2020.
Based on the complaint, Kapurthala City Police said that they filed a first information report (FIR) against Singh on February 28 under sections 354A (sexual harassment), 354D (stalking) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
