Row as petrol bomb hurled at TN Raj Bhavan

A Molotov cocktail, colloquially called the "petrol bomb", was hurled in front of the Tamil Nadu Raj Bhavan's main gate on Wednesday, triggering sharp reactions from the Opposition parties who blamed the ruling DMK for "deterioration" of law and order in the state. A police officer aware of the matter said there was no damage or injuries to anyone in the incident and the accused has been arrested.
According to an official of the Raj Bhavan, the incident took place around 2.45pm on Wednesday. "Two petrol bombs were hurled in front of gate 1 (of the Raj Bhavan) which is used by the Governor... The Governor (RN Ravi) was in the office at that time. No one was injured.
Two barricades and plants were damaged," he said, adding that the accused was immediately overpowered by the police personnel near the Bhavan.
