Poor AQI has Delhiites running for the hills for Diwali weekend

The soaring Air Quality Index (AQI) in the Delhi-NCR region have led to school closures and offices returning in varying degrees to working from home.
Others seem to be fast seeking refuge beyond city limits. As opposed to times when during the festive period, people embark on journeys back home to reunite with their loved ones, this year, it's been more about seeking a respite from the choking pollution.
"We find our rooms and suites are filling up fast for the upcoming (Diwali) weekend. In fact, we have a sold-out position with 100% occupancy between November 13 and 16. What's more, guests are glad to have the opportunity to take a sacred Ganga dip at our private ghat with their families during the auspicious festive season," says Vikas Nagar, General Manager, Pilibhit House, Haridwar (Uttarakhand).
