Political tussle erupts over incident, Gehlot assures of strict action

JAIPUR: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the ruling Congress on Saturday traded barbs over a horrific assault on a woman in Pratapgarh district of Rajasthan, with the Opposition calling chief minister Ashok Gehlot a "mute spectator" on rising crimes against women.

The Congress, however, hit back at a "few parties blaming the government in the name of democracy".
The incident came to light late on Friday after a social media video showed a pregnant woman being stripped and paraded naked in Pratapgarh. So far, seven people have been arrested in the matter.
