NEW DELHI: Teams of the Delhi Police on Wednesday checked identity documents of residents of slum clusters in Kalindi Kunj and Madanpur Khadar, a day after Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena directed police to take action against Bangladeshi immigrants residing illegally in the Capital.
A police officer aware of the matter said, "Photographs of their Aadhaar cards were taken. Most of them said they were from Assam. Details of their documents will now be shared with the police station concerned in the respective states to ascertain if they are authentic."
