A small group of Opposition lawmakers have urged Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) -- a top body of the Catholic churches in the country -- to stand by Muslims on the issue of the Waqf Bill, people familiar with the matter said, as the relationship of the Church leadership with the NDA government also came under heavy scrutiny.
