AI-generated covers of songs in voices of singers have raised questions on ethics
Imagine Bedardeya (Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar) in KK's voice, or Tumhe Dillagi by Sidhu Moosewala, both of whom died last year. While these tracks have been sung by Arijit Singh and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, artificial intelligence (AI) - the brand-new bane of artistes existence across all spheres - has made it possible for songs to be replicated in the voice of late singers. As these covers trend on social media and YouTube, is it time for introspection on if technology is crossing a line?
