A 37-year-old man was electrocuted after touching a high-tension wire near his house in Shahbad Dairy, northwest Delhi, on Wednesday afternoon, the second such death on the day, police said on Thursday.

The man, who was a contract worker with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), was climbing to his roof to install a grille when an iron rod he was carrying touched the high-tension wire.
Police registered a first information report against unknown people on charges of death due to negligence and said that an investigation has been kicked off.
Senior Delhi Transco Officials refused to comment on the matter.
The death came within hours of a similar incident in Alipur, where a toddler died of electrocution after touching a high-tension wire running over the terrace of his house.
