Draft logistics plan for goods movement

The industry department of the Delhi government has come up with a draft "City Logistics Plan-Delhi" to develop an environment-friendly freight transportation system to make movements of goods in the city hassle-free, convenient and easy.

According to the members of the traders' associations of the Capital, the inter-state and intrastate transportation of goods in Delhi faces a major challenge due to no-entry restrictions, traffic congestion and lack of adequate parking facilities. The absence of dedicated loading and unloading facilities at commercial centres adds to the woes.
