Barbiekhor? A pinky promise of flavour

It isn't just the fashion world that Barbie fever has in its grip. Slowly but surely, the culinary industry has also been swept up in the pink embrace.

From Burger King Brazil unveiling a Barbie burger with pink sauce to the Malibu Barbie Cafe in Chicago (US) extending its run, more and more menus are opting for the pink fever.

Closer home, Cocopots, a cafe in Delhi has woven Barbie magic in their menu with cakes, pizzas and shakes themed after the trend. Even as cafés and pop-ups rack their brains to follow suit, it's also totally possible to curate a pink menu at home, and experts attest to that.

IT'S NEVER TOO MUCH PINK!

"Beetroot, dragon fruit, rhubarb, all pink berries, cherries and roses are the primary and natural ingredients one can play with to infuse the colour pink in any recipe. Otherwise, too, a whole range of food-grade hues of pink are available," shares chef Varun Inamdar, who has curated an inventive pink menu comprising a Barbiecore risotto with millets, cashew and beets; a fruity falooda; watermelon and rose smoothie; grape and beet focaccia.
