Shamli Police Nab Two Accused; ₹10 Lakh Cash, Weapons Recovered

Shamli police arrested two suspects after a fierce exchange of gunfire on the highway under the jurisdiction of the Industrial Police Outpost in Sadar Kotwali area.
MEERUT: In a late night operation on Sunday, The duo was wanted in connection with a Rs 32 lakh robbery that had taken place a week earlier.
According to officials, the encounter occurred late at night when a police team, acting on a specific tip-off, attempted to intercept the suspects' vehicle during a checking drive. The suspects opened fire on the police, prompting retaliatory response. Both accused were injured and subsequently arrested.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Mohit Singh and Gaurav alias Shubham, both residents of Vaidpura village under Chandinagar police station in Baghpat district. Police recovered Rs 10 lakh in cash, two country-made pistols, several live cartridges, and the Aadhaar card of the cashier that had been snatched during the heist.
