Just someone I used to know?

When friends, or ex-lovers, drift apart, it's the kind of separation that leaves no bruises. But it's still hard to reconcile, isn't it, the quiet loss of an intimacy that once meant so much?
Nothing went wrong. We merely charted separate courses. Over time, we went from inseparable to, well, separated.
That feels like the strangest part. There was no fight, no betrayal; nothing, in fact, to mark a before and after. Just a slow drift. The kind that creeps up on one quietly.
I used to think intimacy needed a reason to break. That such a break always came with a story. Now I know it sometimes simply dissolves, without malice or warning.
When I was just starting my career, my closest friend and I took long walks that ended with beers, every Friday. We bought bargain books from shops we both loved. We watched films others didn't like. Had big conversations about life, and small ones about nothing.

Living austerely in this world riven by conflict
Spending, investing, and planning in mega terms for India to develop is one thing; reckless splurging, with scant regard for the natural environment thrown into the process, is another. We must make our choices carefully

Warrior, rebel, north star
BR Ambedkar's sweeping, searing Annihilation of Caste — his manifesto, enclosing all that he wished for, for his people and his country — turns 90 this month. It is many things: a compass orienting the reader, a mirror held up to a nation, a love letter to reason. See how it was born (from a speech he wasn’t allowed to deliver); how it defined for him the path he would follow for the rest of his life; and how far short we have fallen of the dreams he had for the new India
