Five Cops Shunted for Assaulting Women of a Family in Meerut

On Saturday, Sardhana MLA Atul Pradhan Staged a Sit-in Protest at the SSP's Office.
MEERUT: A station house officer was among the five police personnel who were sent to police lines for allegedly assaulting women of a Dalit family in Meerut's Lawad area on May 7, senior superintendent of police (SSP) Vipin Tada said.
A video, purportedly of the incident, on social media shows police officers thrashing the women during an arrest following a land dispute between two brothers. The issue gained traction after former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav shared the video.
