CM Yogi targets people who call kanwariyas 'unruly'

CM inaugurates national seminar on Birsa Munda in Varanasi, warns against attempts to incite caste conflict through fake social media accounts

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said efforts are being made to defame kanwar pilgrims who are subjected to a media trial and termed terrorists and rioters.

This, he asserted, stems from a mentality that wants to insult India’s heritage.

He made the remarks at the inauguration of a national seminar on tribal icon Birsa Munda at Vasant Mahila Mahavidyalaya on the second day of his visit to Varanasi.

He hailed tribal communities as the foundation of Indian civilization and warned against increasing attempts to incite caste conflict through fake social media accounts, calling for immediate action to stop such divisive agendas.

The chief minister further said whenever there is any threat to Sanatan Dharma, the tribal society has always stood up to fight it.
