Prof Alka takes charge as first woman principal of prestigious Patna Sc College

Prof Alka, a teacher of home science from BRA Bihar University, Muzaffarpur, on Wednesday took over as first woman principal of prestigious Patna Science College of the Patna University.
She takes over a time when the college will be heading towards its centenary celebrations less than two years from now. She is the first regular principal at Patna Science College appointed through the commission after over a decade.
The college had started as the science department of Patna University, but since 1928 it began functioning independently. Its foundation stone was laid by Lord Irwin.
