PM to visit Bihar amid terror alert, may give 'strong signal'

A day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Bihar's Madhubani district, which is close to Nepal border, a high alert was sounded across Bihar following the terror attack in Kashmir, said a senior police officer of state government.

Meanwhile, state BJP president Dilip Jaiswal and JD-U working president and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Jha said that keeping in mind the sensitivity of the tragedy after Pahalgam terror attack, the scheduled visit of PM Modi to Bideshwar Asthan at Jhanjharpur in Madhubani district will be a sober affair. PM is slated to address Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and Gram Sabhas across the country from Madhubani today on the occasion of the National Panchayati Raj Day.

Union minister Rajiv Ranjan alias Lalan Singh said that the PM would arrive at 11.30 am for the Panchayati Raj Day address to Panchayati Raj representatives from across the country, besides inaugurating development projects.
