Ministers trade barbs in House, BJP takes swipe

Tensions flared in the Jharkhand assembly during the question hour on Friday as parliamentary affairs minister Sudivya Kumar and health minister Irfan Ansari traded barbs, allowing the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to target the treasury bench.
RANCHI:
The incident occurred when senior Congress legislator and health minister Ansari was replying to a call-attention question from Congress Legislature Party leader Pradeep Yadav about opening a nursing college in Godda district.
"Has a nursing college building been constructed in Godda? If yes, then will the department make it operational?" Yadav asked in his supplementary question.
Ansari said sarcastically that Yadav was a five-term legislator, but there was still no nursing college in his district. "What kind of question is that? When was the college constructed? I think he would know better. As far as making it operational is concerned, we will try to make it operational soon," he added.
