Kidnapped trader rescued; 7 arrested in Bihar's Rohtas district

Rohtas police, along with the district intelligence unit, rescued a local trader from the clutches of kidnappers within three hours of his abduction on Monday night, and arrested seven members of an eight-member kidnapping gang, officials said, adding that the operation involved 150 police personnel.

SASARAM:

Grocery merchant Suraj Prasad Sah (52) was abducted around 10pm from Old GT Road near his residence in Amara Talab under the jurisdiction of Sasaram Mufassil police station area, while he was returning home after closing his shop.

Soon after the kidnapping, the abductors used Sah's mobile phone to demand a ransom of ₹50 lakh from his family and threatened to kill him if the police were informed.
