JD(U) Loses 4 Leaders for Supporting Waqf Bill

In a jolt to JD(U) ahead of Assembly polls in the state, four party leaders, including two state office-bearers, resigned from the party citing disagreement with its stance on the Waqf Amendment Bill.
PATNA: The Bill was passed late Thursday night by Rajya Sabha as well.
JD(U), a key NDA ally, backed the Bill despite strong opposition from several quarters, including a sitting MLC and an ex-MLC.
Those who resigned include, Mohd Shahnawaz Malik, JD(U) minority cell state secretary-cum-district president Jamui, state general secretary Mohd Tabrez Siddiqui Alig, party leaders Mohd Kasim Ansari and youth leader Raju Nayyar.
