DGP Suspends Eight Cops for Assaulting Army Jawan: Police

Jharkhand director general of police (DGP) Anurag Gupta suspended eight police personnel, including Jugsalai police station (PS) officer-in-charge (OC) Sachin Das, for beating up and sending Indian Army havildar Suraj Rai to jail on March 15, officials close to the development said on Saturday.
JAMSHEDPUR: Jharkhand director general of police (DGP) Anurag Gupta suspended eight police personnel, including Jugsalai police station (PS) officer-in-charge (OC) Sachin Das, for beating up and sending Indian Army havildar Suraj Rai to jail on March 15, officials close to the development said on Saturday.
"Jugsalai OC (inspector rank), five sub-inspectors (SIs), and two constables have been suspended as per the order of the DGP for beating up an Indian Army jawan and sending him to jail on March 15. Sanjay Kumar Das has been posted as the new OC of Jugsalai PS," Kishor Kaushal, Jamshedpur senior superintendent of police (SSP), told HT on Saturday.
