Deputy commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri chaired a meeting with representatives of private school managements in Ranchi on Tuesday, where he directed them to ensure proper implementation of the Right to Education (RTE) Act, warning of dire consequences for noncompliance, a collectorate official close to the developments said on Wednesday.
“After the meeting, the DC concluded that the schools could take only 493 admissions against the total applications of 672 and directed schools to ensure 116 more admissions under RTE. Failing which, the DC warned them of cancellation of their affiliation under the RTE Act,” the collectorate official said.
