Protests, bandh in Balotra after murder of 30-yr-old due to dispute over parking

BARMER: Protests were held during a day-long bandh in Balotra on Thursday, days after a 30-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by a criminal over a dispute on parking space, officials said.
Adding that the demonstrators, including members of the Meghwal community and the victim's family, marched from the mortuary at Nahata Hospital to the district collectorate.
Superintendent of police Kundan Kawariyasaid: "Eight special teams have been formed to apprehend the accused, identified as Harshdan Charan. He is a history sheeter. The victim, Vishanaram Meghwal, belonging to the Meghwal community, was a tent worker."
The Meghwal community on Thursday reiterated their resolve, with protesters vowing not to perform the last rites of the victim until their demands are met.
