Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that the crores of rupees spent by the government in creating large-scale infrastructure not only boosts the economy but benefits every household in the country.
JAIPUR:
Addressing a public meeting at Palana in Bikaner, the first since the launch of Operation Sindoor, the PM inaugurated development projects worth ₹26,000 crore.
He said that in the last 11 years, ₹70,000 crore has been spent on creating infrastructure and Rajasthan has benefited hugely from it.
He added that the double-engine government at the Centre and in Rajasthan was working to boost industrial growth in the state and create robust infrastructure. The PM noted that the government under the leadership of chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has brought in several policies for different sectors. "Bikaner too will benefit from the new policies...when you talk of Bikaner, you recall the flavour of Bikaneri bhujia and the sweetness of Bikaneri rasgullas...now they will be able to establish their identity across the world," he said.
Modi underlined that to make a Viksit Bharat, infrastructure is required, which the government is building at a rapid pace.
"Today there is a mahayagya going on in the country to create modern infrastructure for achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat. In the last 11 years, work has been done at a rapid pace to make our roads, railways and airports modern. Six times more money is being spent now on infrastructure related works than was done earlier," he said.
