Meena Replies to BJP Notice on His Phone Tapping Claim

After accusing his own Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government of tapping his phone, cabinet minister Kirodi Lal Meena said on Wednesday that he has responded to the party's show-cause notice, adding that the authority to take any disciplinary action against him lies with the party's state unit president.
JAIPUR:
The development took place after a video recently went viral, in which the minister is purportedly seen accusing the BJP-led state government of tapping his phone.
Meena has also earlier accused the state government of being involved in the phone tapping scandal and since then, both the government and the BJP have been in the spotlight. The issue led to an uproar in the assembly, with the chief minister's response sparking heated debates.
After the viral video surfaced, the BJP issued a show-cause notice to Meena on Monday for his recent statement in which he claimed that the government is tapping his phone.
Responding to the party's notice via email on Tuesday evening, Meena said that he has received information indicating his phone was being tapped.
