ISARDA PROJECT WILL TACKLE ACUTE DRINKING WATER SHORTAGE: GOVT

The ongoing Isarda Dam Project in Rajasthan is set to play a transformative role not only in tackling acute drinking water shortages but also in revolutionising water management across the region, particularly in Jaipur and its surrounding areas, said the data released by the state irrigation department.

Beyond its primary objective of ensuring drinking water supply to over 1,250 villages and several towns in Dausa and Sawai Madhopur districts, the project will act as a strategic water management hub. Once operational, Isarda Dam will enable efficient utilisation of surplus water from the Bisalpur Dam and rainwater run-off from the Banas River, both of which often go untapped during monsoons, states an official release of the government.
