IMD Issues Red Alert for Heavy Rain in Raj Dists

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued a red alert in four districts, orange alert for 10 districts for moderate to heavy rainfall, while also a yellow alert in nine other districts for light to moderate rains.

JAIPUR:

"A red alert has been issued for heavy rainfall along with hailstorm in Nagaur, Pali, Jodhpur and Barmer. There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rains across the Udaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, and Bharatpur divisions with a heavy wind blowing at 50 to 60 km/hr," said Radhe Shyam Sharma, director of the Jaipur IMD.

He further said: "Such pre-monsoon activity will be there till June 20 following which rains will get heavier in Kota and Bharatpur divisions. There might also be a drop in the temperature at 3 to 4°C and a respite from the heatwave across the state."
