- HT Correspondent

JAIPUR: Governor Haribhau Bagade has challenged the historical account of a marriage between Mughal emperor Akbar and the princess of Amer, calling it untrue. He stated that there is no mention of such a union in Akbarnama, Akbar's official autobiography.

"Much of India's early history was written by foreigners and contains several falsehoods. The widely believed account of Mughal emperor Akbar's marriage to the princess of Amer is fictitious," Bagade said while noting that there is no mention of such an event in Akbar's autobiography.
