Govt to use biometrics to screen candidates

To prevent the entry of "dummy" candidates and malpractices during the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) 2024, the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education for the first time will use biometrics to verify the identity of candidates, people aware of the matter said.
JAIPUR:
The exam will be conducted on February 27, wherein the board plans to use biometrics for entry of candidates to prevent any malpractices and identify the "dummy" candidates. Around 1.5 million candidates are expected to appear for the exam and candidates can apply till January 15, 2025.
The decision comes in the wake of multiple question paper leak reports during the previous Congress regime.
The government has therefore given strict instructions to the board to ensure confidentiality of the exam and to prevent data leak, the people cited above said.
