Gehlot Questions 'Power Surplus Claim'; Lack of Foresight: BJP

Congress's lack of foresight when it was in power in Rajasthan has caused a severe power shortage in the state, power minister Hiralal Nagar said on Sunday, hours after former chief minister Ashok Gehlot targeted the BJP government over power cuts, alleging that the power distribution system has collapsed.
JAIPUR:
Addressing a press conference, Nagar said, "Congress's lack of foresight is responsible for a severe power shortage in Rajasthan. Due to such a lack of vision, we had to purchase almost 1000 MW energy daily last year. We could not manage the demand during the summer last year. But the situation was absolutely stable this year."
