Gehlot claims no clear response on Op Sindoor; BJP targets Cong

Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday raised concerns in response to the Parliament's debate on Operation Sindoor, questioning the lack of clarity and accountability after the death of 26 tourists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam ina terror attack on April 22.

In response, the Bharatiya Janata Party slammed Gehiot and said that India’s attack “not only rattled Pakistan but left Congress frustrated”.

“The public still does not know where the lapse occurred, who is being punished, and why no inquiry report has been shared. No minister or agency head has resigned. Even in yesterday’s (on Tuesday) response in the Parliament, no clear answer was given,” Gehlot said during a meeting in Bikaner. He adding that Parliament should have been convened immediately after the operation for a transparent discussion.

On alleged misuse of central agencies, Gehlot said that since Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government came to power, CBI, ED, and Income Tax Department have been weaponised against political opponents. “Out of 193 ED cases, only two convictions happened —this is Parliament's own data. Think of the trauma families went through during raids,” he said, calling the situation “dangerous”.
