Barmer on top in Centre's 'Catch the Rain' campaign

The Barmer district has set a national benchmark in water conservation by achieving the highest number of small rainwater harvesting structures in the country under the Government of India's "Catch the Rain" campaign, according to an official data released by the Union Jal Shakti ministry.
BARMER:
The date released on Wednesday was based on the survey between March 9 and December 31, 2024. The data stated that Barmer constructed 43,283 rainwater harvesting structures under various schemes, representing a significant portion of the 83,694 structures built across Rajasthan during the same period. The state as a whole led the nation in rainwater harvesting efforts, contributing to the 5,84,866 structures constructed across India in 2024.
