Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Friday said the state had allocated a record 8.26% of its total budget towards health care in the previous government, further highlighting that nearly 21,000 positions for doctors, nursing, and paramedical staff have been filled, with a target to recruit 50,000 more in the medical department soon.
JAIPUR:
Sharma said Rajasthan's performance in various health indicators, including institutional deliveries, maternal and infant mortality rates, vaccination, and availability of medical institutions, is better than the national average.
Addressing representatives from health care institutions during a pre-budget dialogue at the chief minister's office, he said the state government's continuous efforts are to expand and strengthen health services.
He said around 60 million people in the state now have their health records stored digitally through the "Aadhaar ID", with the state coming in second place nationwide in this regard.
