13 killed, 10 injured after truck ploughs into vehicles in Jaipur

At least 13 people were killed and 10 others were injured after a speeding dumper truck, allegedly driven by a man under the influence of alcohol, rammed into over a dozen vehicles in Rajasthan’s Jaipur on Monday, police said, adding that the accused has been detained in connection with the incident.
The incident took place near Loha Mandi in Harmada area of Jaipur at around 1pm. “Prima facie, the dumper driver was under the influence of alcohol. We have detained him while his vehicle was also seized. Bodies have been sent for an autopsy while the injured ones are undergoing treatment,” Jaipur (West) deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Hanuman Prasad Meena said.
