Raj unveils 'green' budget; aims for a $350 bn economy by 2030

Rajasthan finance minister Diya Kumari on Wednesday presented a ₹5.37 lakh-crore state budget for 2025-26 in the legislative assembly, announcing recruitment for up to 275,000 positions in the government and private sector.
JAIPUR: In a break from the past, the BJP government moved away from announcing any freebies, considering the heavy debt burden and limited resources in the desert state.
In her budget speech that lasted a little over two hours, Kumari, who is also the deputy chief minister of the state, said the state is committed to creating a $350 billion economy by 2030. "We have increased capital expenditure by more than 40% in a short period..." she said.
