HC Directs Pune Collector to Refund ₹5.30 Cr to Osho Int'l Foundation

The Bombay high court on Friday directed the Additional Collector, Pune to refund about Rs. 5.30 crore to Osho International Foundation out of the Rs. 5.9 crores which was paid to it under protest by Osho International Foundation on a demand of premium for the surplus vacant land under the Urban Land Ceiling (ULC) Act, 1976.
MUMBAI:
A bench of justice BP Colabawalla and justice Firdosh Pooniwalla were hearing a plea by the Foundation challenging an order of the collector dated 12 February 2021, requiring it to pay a premium of Rs 5.90 crore for release of their entire land from the purview of ULC Act.
