Three unidentified women have been booked after a video circulated online purportedly showed some burga-clad women offering namaz.on the premises of the historic Shaniwarwada Fort in Pune, police said on Tuesday.
The incident has since sparked protests by BJP MP Medha Kulkarni and members of other organisations, who later performed “purification’ rituals at the site using cow urine and dung.
According to the police, the incident reportedly took place around L45pm on Saturday, following which an Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) officer lodged a formal complaint with Vishrambaug police on Sunday.
