Two Iftar parties keep political ball rolling in Bihar

The two Iftar parties organised by RJD leaders led by Tejashwi Yadav and Purnia MP Pappu Yadav at two distinct places in Bihar on Saturday set the political ball rolling in the state, people in the knowledge of the matter said.

The two Iftars have been a talk in political circles as political observers have declared it a first sign of 'disunity and dissensions' among grand alliance (GA) in Bihar, especially at a time when Congress party looks aggressive in Bihar ahead of assembly elections in the state this year.

Leader of the opposition (LOP) Tejashwi Yadav, who attended the Iftar party at Belgachhi falling under Baisi assembly segment 15-km away from Purnia district headquarters, exhorted the party workers to come forward to ensure a grand win for the party in the upcoming assembly polls.

Evoking the name of his father Lalu Prasad during the address after the Iftar, the LOP said that he never made any compromise with communal forces and his only objective was to develop the region.
