Over two kg smack seized, two peddlers from Bengal arrested

Two drug peddlers from West Bengal were arrested with a consignment of smack in Bihar’s Purnia district on Wednesday, police said, adding that the narcotics were meant to be delivered to youths in Araria.
The accused — Mohammad Saidul Sheikh (35) and Mohammad Atiur Sheikh (34) — both residents of Kaliachak in Malda district of West Bengal, were apprehended while boarding a tempo in the Gulabbagh area, Superintendent of Police (SP) Sweety Sahrawat told media-persons.
“The arrested peddlers have been very active in the region. They had already delivered narcotics consignments twice before. This time, they were caught while attempting to deliver the third consignment to peddlers in Araria,” the SP said.
