Land Owners Need Not Submit All Documents With Declaration Forms

Landowners in the state need not furnish all land-related papers as proof in support of their claim on title of the land during submission of self-declaration forms as mandated under the ongoing special land survey, revenue and land reforms minister Sanjay Saraogi said on Thursday.

"Whatever land-related documents the land owners have in their possession, it could be submitted with the self-declaration forms for verification during the special survey. Rest of the documents can be submitted during various stages of the survey like kistawar and khanapurti," the minister said.

The processes of kistawar (verification of papers of land including plots and mapping) and khanapurti (measurement of plot of land as per land deeds) are important stages for verifying the land deeds and ascertaining the nature of land as per government records.
