EC Says Interdepartmental Coordination Needs Boost

The Election Commissioner Stressed the Need to Ensure Effective Participation of Border-Region Voters

BETTIAH: Ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in the state, a team from the Election Commission of India, led by Commissioner Vivek Joshi, on Sunday stressed the need to strengthen the 'interdepartmental coordination' to ensure free and fair election in this part of West Champaran district of Bihar.

Joshi, after holding parley with officials of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), forest department, and district administration at Valmikinagar, a picturesque place 110km north of Bettiah, headquarters of West Champaran district, discussed the region's socio-geographic and cultural landscape and emphasised the need to ensure effective participation of border-region voters through a coordinated strategy.
