Devoted cyber division to curb crimes in Bihar

THIS YEAR 301 CASES OF DIGITAL ARREST INVOLVING RS 10 CRORE HAVE COME TO LIGHT. PLUS, 120 PERSONS HAVE SO FAR BEEN ARRESTED UNDER CYBER PRAHAR, WHILE CYBER POLICE STATIONS HAVE ARRESTED 688.
PATNA: In view of rapidly growing incidents of cyber crime, Bihar government has now decided to form a dedicated cyber division, apart from the Economic Offence Unit (EOU). The dedicated cyber division will function under an IG-rank official.
Besides, the cyber division will have a DIG, three SPs and one SP (Cyber Security). A separate building will come up for the new division. The government has already deputed IG Rakesh Rathi for it.
ADG Headquarters Kundan Krishnan said the need for a specialist unit was being felt to deal with cyber cases, which transcends national and international boundaries.
