Deputy CM Choudhary receives death threat with '24-hr ultimatum'

Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary received a threat message, in which the sender warned he would be shot within 24 hours. The message, from an unknown number, was sent to the phone of one of his supporters on Saturday night. No FIR had been lodged in this connection, police said.

Sources said a WhatsApp message came on cell phone of one of the supporters of Samrat Chaudhary which mentioned, “I will shoot Samrat Chaudhary within 24 hours, I am telling the truth.” Soon after the message was received by the supporter, he informed police and they started an investigation in this connection.

“Police are taking the help of cyber cell. From which mobile number did the message come? Also, where is its location? In whose name is the number registered, all these things are being investigated,” said police officials involved in the investigation.

Reacting to the threat, Chaudhary said, “Let anyone who wants to issue threats do so. We are committed to the development of the Bihar.”
