Bihar Likely to Get Relief From Heat Between April 26 and 30

Bihar is expected to get some relief from the prevailing heat wave and hot weather conditions for the past couple of days between April 26 and 30, when various parts of the state are likely to experience thunderstorms, lightning, and light to moderate rainfall (10-50 mm), according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast issued by Anand Shankar, Scientist D, on Thursday.

Heat wave, humidity and hot weather, however, continued to torment people across most parts of the state.
The state's maximum temperature was recorded in Gaya at 42.6 degree Celsius on Thursday, warmer than Tuesday (42.3°C). The maximum temperature had also increased in Dehri, Buxar (both 42.2°C), Motihari (41.8°C), Sheikhpura (41.6°C), Patna and Gopalganj (41.4°C), Valmikinagar (41.1°C), which were among 15 of Bihar's 38 districts that registered a maximum temperature of over 40°C on Thursday.
Patna's district magistrate Chandra Shekhar Singh prohibited academic activities for all classes after 11.45am in all schools of the district from Thursday to April 30.
