The number of operational factories has declined to 2,782 in the year 2022-23 as against 3,132 in the year 2013-14, says Economic Survey Report.
PATNA: Notwithstanding numerous MoUs and policies to woo investors, the state of industries in Bihar remains grim. The number of operational factories has declined to 2,782 in the year 2022-23 as against 3,132 in the year 2013-14, according to the latest edition of the Bihar Economic Survey laid in the state legislature on Friday.
This is in contrast to the national level industrial growth. There are 206,523 factories currently operating across the country in 2022-23 against 185,690 in 2013-14. Ironically, Bihar is home to barely 1.34% of the total operational industrial units in the country.
