Saif returns home; cops recreate scene of crime

MUMBAI: Saif Ali Khan walked out of Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday, five days after an intruder at his apartment attacked him with a knife on January 16, even as police took the alleged attacker, Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammed Rohilla Amin Fakir, to the Bollywood actor's upscale Bandra home to recreate the crime scene.

A team of 20 officials reached the Satguru Sharan building in four police vans around 5.30am along with the 30-year-old accused, who is reportedly a Bangladeshi national, and were on the premises for an hour, an official said.

According to his account narrated to the police, Shariful entered the building through an open door in the basement parking lot that leads to the lobby. He discovered the basement door during a two-day recce after a labour contractor Amit Pandey informed him that several film personalities reside in Bandra West, the official said.
