NEW DELHI: Opposition lawmakers on Tuesday questioned the Centre's silence over the situation in Manipur, which has been in the throes of ethnic strife since May last year, and alleged that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government has made "communal division" a part of its state policy.
Taking part in a discussion on 75 years of the Constitution in the Rajya Sabha, Congress leader Nasser Hussain claimed: "This government has gone to the extent of making communal division into a state policy, thereby betraying the vision of the Constitution's framers and the inclusive nation that they aspired to build."
